Ungodly Counsel
Where do you get your advice from? What do the people in your life believe? How do they live? Where you get your advice will determine how successful you are and how well you do, especially if it contradicts the Word of God. God says that if you want to be successful, don’t take advice from people who don’t believe in Him. We are to ignore counsel that may seem good, but goes against God’s Word. When it comes to areas of our life that concerns morality, finances, marriage, raising kids, etc. and such, we should look to God’s Word for our answers and constantly meditate on it. Psalm 1:3 says that if you want true success, don’t allow the counsel of the ungodly lead you astray. Only then will you find true happiness that lasts and true success in every area of your life.

The Double Life
How do we see God? How do we honor and please God? These are questions all of us should ask ourselves from time to time. Do we really believe, or do we wear God like a sticker, patch or a designer shirt? Do we believe when it’s convenient or do we purpose to please Him in all of our ways? We can’t compartmentalize our walk with God. We can’t act one way at church and another at home or work. At times, when people are caught doing wrong, they’re quick to say, “Yeah, but I’m a Christian, I believe in God,” or “I got saved when I was young”. If we’re truly right with God, (as in, saved or born again) then we’ll have real desire to get to know God and want to please Him. We’ll want to learn His ways and follow His teachings. We won’t have two lives, but we’ll be consistent wherever we go. God will no longer be a patch we wear, but we’ll purpose to serve and please Him in everything we do.

Joy Beyond Measure
Have you ever stopped to think about enjoying every day instead of complaining about each day? The word enjoy means, “to have or experience joy; to get pleasure from, to have a good time.” I know we won’t enjoy everything that goes on in our lives, but we can receive pleasure from our lives every day that we have on this earth. It’s amazing that we sometimes take for granted this gift we have called “life”. One of the reasons we don’t enjoy it more is an uncommunicated expectation of others and false expectations of how life is supposed to be. We have to rethink our attitudes towards things that go on and change the way we react to them.
If every time you get some bad news it prevents you from enjoying life, then you have the ability to change that response and take responsibility to enjoy life every day. It’s your call. Bad news is never the culprit; it’s how you respond to it. Just think about how good life can be with just a small attitude adjustment. Don’t get mad, angry or upset because of circumstances. Look at it as temporal and don’t allow it to steal your joy.

Paying the Price
There is a cost for success and getting ahead in life. It doesn’t come easy or without hard work and dedication or setbacks. You can play now and pay later or vice versa. If you’re going to work towards an achievement in life, it’ll take work. Whether it’s marriage, work, raising kids, or starting a business, it will cost you something. Nothing is free. Today, our government is trying to sell the idea that they’re the answer to all of our problems and if you trust them, your worries will be over. That’s not true because it will cost you your freedom, and it’s not worth it. It will take paying attention, hard work, mastering your craft and being honest. It’s not an overnight process. It has been said, that if you study something for five years, you’ll be considered an expert. Whatever you’re doing, do it to the best of your ability; keep growing and learning and never give up on your dream.

The Stand
Taking a stand in today’s world for morality, ethics, God can be a tough situation. When you do, there will be people who won’t like you for it. They’ll call you names and threaten you in an effort to silence you. People will hate you for standing up for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Society has moved away from the ideal that with hard work and dedication, you can make a great life for yourself.
Today, that’s okay as long as you are willing to give it all away to help those who are basically doing nothing to get ahead. If you don’t give it away willingly, then today, our government will find a way to take it. In taking a stand for what you believe in, we cannot be “wishy-washy”. We must be passionate and committed to our cause. We shouldn’t get our feelings hurt easily, but have such a strong conviction that nothing will deter us.
The side of America that truly hates our way of life is committed and they are winning the argument because of their commitment. Let’s be people who will stand for the unborn, the right to enjoy success and for the principles found in God’s Word. Never back down. If God is for you, who can be against you? When you’ve done all that you know to do, STAND.
