All of us suffer from indecision at times. If we’re not careful, this can become a debilitating problem. Indecision is often related to lack of self-confidence and a tendency to worry about potential problems.  Indecision is often worse than the wrong action. – Henry Ford. What happens to us is we worry about our decision way too much. Sometimes there is not a right or wrong decision, just a decision to make. Low self-esteem and worrying about the wrong decision can keep us from making one at all, and the end result is unhappiness. Some people have the toughest time deciding what to wear that day. Some people blame a wrong decision they may have made years ago for the unhappiness they feel today.  We try to make the best choices at the time. Sure, if we could go back, we may have done things differently; that’s hindsight. But, we can’t go back, can we? So we do the best with what we have and know. We don’t ever live with regret. Make the choice and live with it with a good attitude. Know that every choice you make will not be a perfect one.

Leadership is more than a position, it’s really about influence. Positional leadership is the lowest level of leadership. Unfortunately, in my opinion, that’s where most leaders are. They believe they are leading by telling everyone over and over that they’re the boss, which may be needed at times. True leaders should strive to lead by influence, which means people follow because they want to, not because they have to. In that type of leadership, they respect the person and the position, and not out of fear. Positional leaders tend to be very insecure and micro-manage. An influential leader understands some basic leadership principles and one of them is that more responsibility means more privilege, especially if you don’t stifle creativity, and the incentive for that person to perform. Positional leaders end up having more issues with themselves and their own shortcomings become clear to everyone else except them. Let’s strive to become leaders by influence by being honest and sincere in our dealings. We should be hard workers, smart leaders and people of integrity.

As we go through life, there are opportunities that come our way, but some never see them, due to scotomas. A scotoma is what doctors refer to as a defect that blocks sight in one part of our visual field. It’s also a term that describes our failure to see what’s right in front of us, because we build our own mental blind spots. We have certain expectations and a belief system we deal with to make our decisions. What we believe will determine what we see. Have you ever looked at a new car and once you took interest in it, you started to see them everywhere? Sometimes you notice something out of place and you let it go and eventually you don’t see it anymore because you have developed a scotoma, or blind spot to it. We can begin to expand our beliefs or what has been conditioned in us since birth by embracing the Word of God that will cause us to grow, open our eyes and see the opportunities around us.

This weekend, we celebrated Easter or Resurrection Sunday. What an incredible moment for all who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, because this is the moment we celebrate Jesus being raised from the dead. Without that special event, He would be just like all the other so-called gods…dead. He is alive and let all of humanity forever know that He loves them and wants them to have a relationship with God the Father himself. When we acknowledge Him and ask him to be Lord of our lives, we inherit eternal life forever, only if we continue to do what He asks and commands. He is either the Lord of all or not at all.
?God is the God of another chance. Wherever you are, He’s there, ready to respond to your call to forgive you and give you another chance. John 14:15 says, “If you love me, keep my commandments”. Getting your life right with Him is as easy as this: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – I John 1:9. We can truly celebrate Jesus’ resurrection by doing this: follow Him.

What we think about ourselves, our family life, our work life etc., is very important. It will determine our success or failure and how much we are willing to attempt and accomplish in life. It will determine the health and welfare of our families and all of our relationships. Our self-concept will determine who we associate with.
Self-defeating thinking will limit us in all of these areas. People with this line of thinking will continue in a cycle of bitterness, depression, anger, cynicism and low self-esteem. They will always be overwhelmed and refuse any help so that they can do it themselves. They’ll say things like “I’ve done too many bad things for God to forgive me” This is an example of wrong thinking. This person self-sabotages themselves because they de-value their life. Here are some ways to defeat self-sabotaging thoughts:
• Complete something like a project, so you can think better of yourself and let go of bitterness and a critical spirit.
• Be able to identify this pattern of thinking immediately and recognize the “symptoms” so that you can begin to humble yourself and seek help.
• Allow God to heal your hearts and minds, and to realize you are valuable and you do have worth.
Ask God to begin to heal you and help you to become a person who believes in yourself, and to realize that by the sacrifice of Jesus, He has made you worthy to receive good things.
