Biblical Fatherhood
We live in a world that has spent decades attacking what God created. Men have been told they do not matter. Fatherhood has been treated as an option. Masculinity has been called toxic, when the truth is God made men masculine on purpose. The attack is not ultimately against men. The attack is against God’s design for the family. When fathers are weakened, families struggle, children are wounded, communities break down, and generations feel the ripple. Fatherhood matters. Men matter. Our nation needs biblical fathers who fear God.
God’s design:
God created marriage, He created the family, and He created fathers. Whenever we move away from God’s design, the consequences are never isolated. Ephesians 6:4 says, “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Biblical fatherhood is not about control. It is about carrying God’s influence in the home.
A father’s presence:
Children need fathers who show up. They need guidance, encouragement, correction, and example. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” When a father is present, he gives his children a glimpse of the God who never leaves.
A father’s example:
Children learn more from what they see than from what they hear. They are watching how dad treats mom, how he handles pressure, how he honors God, and how he responds when he fails. The goal is not perfection. The goal is consistency.
Fathers, do not try to carry this weight without God. Stay close to Him. Stay planted in church. Keep worshiping, keep serving, keep leading, and keep bringing your family under the Word of God. John 15:5 says, “I am the vine, ye are the branches … for without me ye can do nothing.” Before you are a father, you are a son. The closer you walk with the heavenly Father, the more clearly your family will see Him through you.
