Hope Deferred
We’ve all been there — praying, believing, waiting … and then silence. No breakthrough. No answer. Just delay. Proverbs 13:12 says, Hope deferred makes the heart sick. It doesn’t just mess with your plans — it messes with your soul. Disappointment can creep in like a slow leak, draining your strength and testing your faith. But delay doesn’t mean denial. God’s timeline may not match yours, but His faithfulness always holds.
The rest of that verse says, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. That’s not just about getting what you want — it’s pointing to something deeper. In Genesis and Revelation, the tree of life represents eternal communion with God. In other words, even when your hope is deferred, God is working toward a fulfillment bigger than your moment — He’s anchoring you to eternity.
So, if you’re in a season of waiting, don’t give up. Hope in Jesus never dies. It’s never lost — just not done yet. Keep walking, even if it feels like Emmaus. Jesus is walking beside you. Your story isn’t over — He’s still writing it.
Just a thought,
