What Is Happening to You?
You can plant much and still harvest little. You can eat and still not be satisfied. You can drink and still be thirsty. That was God’s diagnosis for His people in Haggai, and it still describes a lot of lives today.
We chase a promotion, a relationship, a bigger house, a bigger dream, and we expect it to finally fill the empty place. But chasing satisfaction in created things is like drinking salt water. The more you depend on it, the thirstier you get.
God’s warning to His people was simple: “Look at what’s happening to you.” Not to shame them, but to wake them up. Sometimes frustration is not the problem. Frustration is the messenger.
Jesus did not say He would help us find life. He said He is life. He is not another thing to add to a full life. He is the only thing that ever actually satisfies.
What are you drinking from that was never meant to quench your thirst?
Just a thought,
PSS
