What Will You Be Known For?

Every one of us is writing a legacy — one decision at a time. The truth is, people may forget what you said or even what you did, but they’ll never forget how you lived. Proverbs 11 shows us that humility, integrity, and generosity aren’t just nice traits — they’re the building blocks of a life that truly matters. The world may applaud pride, image, and self-preservation, but God honors those who walk in truth, stay teachable, and live open-handedly.

Jesus asked a sobering question in Mark 8:36: “What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?” You can be known for success, style, and influence — but if your soul is empty and your heart far from God, that kind of legacy ends at the grave. Legacy isn’t about being remembered — it’s about pointing people to the One worth remembering: Jesus. That’s why we must choose the old ways — the God-honoring ways — because they lead to life, not just applause.

So what will you be known for: a reputation that fades — or a legacy that lasts? Ask yourself today: “Am I living for the temporary or the eternal?” because the life you’re building today will be the story others tell tomorrow. Let’s live it well.

Just a thought,
