But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

We don't mind God knowing the good things we do. We want Him to. We love it when He sees us serve, give, and show up. But somehow we've gotten it into our heads that if He knows the bad things, He won't help us and He won't still care for us. That lie is as old as the garden. Adam and Eve sinned and then hid, as if a few trees could keep them out of sight of the One who made them.

Here's the truth. He already knows. Nothing you've done has surprised Him, and nothing you're carrying has changed how He feels about you. Romans 5:8 says Christ died for us while we were still sinners. He saw the worst of us and sent His Son anyway. Hiding your failures doesn't protect you from God. It only keeps you from the help He is ready to give.

So, stop covering it up and bring it to Him. Confession doesn't tell God something He doesn't know. It agrees with Him about what He already sees, and then it opens the door for His mercy. He is faithful to forgive and He is faithful to cleanse. The One who knows the most about you loves you the most, and He is waiting for you to come out of hiding.
