The Highest Way
As we come into another Easter-Resurrection season, let us remember what it is all about.
It’s about Jesus:
It’s about the Jesus we need, not the Jesus we want. It’s about the Savior of the world — the only One Who can save us from the penalty of sin, that which separates from God, Himself. Jesus came and died and was raised again so that we may have eternal life. Too many make Easter about family and eggs, instead of a time of reflection and remembrance of an incredible moment for all humanity. No other man has affected human life, human history, more than Jesus has.
Let us:
Let us remember and be thankful for what He has done. Let us reflect and serve Him — His way, not our way. Let us remember His sacrifice by purposing to serve Him the way His word teaches us to serve Him. Let us show the world that we are so grateful for what He did for us that we would worship in His house not just this Sunday, but every Sunday. Let us learn His ways so we can serve Him properly. Let us repent for our sins in honor of His sacrifice, and purpose to live out His will, not our will. It’s about His desires, not ours. Let’s truly honor Him as we remember and are thankful for all He has done for us.
May God be glorified in our lives.

Not My Will, But Thine
Not My Will, But Thine
When someone surrenders to someone or something, it means they have ceased resisting an enemy or opponent, and have submitted to their authority. That is what God requires of us.
Above all:
When we truly surrender to God, we are surrendering our instinctual interests, which can be selfish and destructive by nature. Surrendering ourselves to God is to pursue truth and righteousness above all else. This means to pursue His word (the Bible), and put it first in our lives. It means to put the word of God into practice in our lives — purposing to do what it teaches above all else — putting His thoughts, His ways of thinking and doing things above all else.
Every aspect:
In order to surrender our lives to God, we must quit resisting Him, and submit every aspect of our lives to Him. Once we surrender our lives to Him, that’s when we will begin to experience His help and His blessings in our lives. So, I encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Him. Once we surrender our lives to Him, that’s when we will begin to experience His help and His blessings in our lives. So, I encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Him.
Don’t wait:
Examine your life today, and if there is an area you have not surrendered to Him, do it today. Don’t wait another moment. It’s not surrender unless you have unconditionally surrendered everything to His will. Stop resisting God and His word in your life.
Taste and see that the Lord is good!

With All Your Heart
The Bible teaches us to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts, and lean not on our own understanding.
Highest relationship:
So, what does it mean to trust God, to trust someone else? Trust is the highest relationship with others. It means to have confidence in, to be secure, to feel safe. It means you believe what they tell you.
Worldly trust:
In our society, it is hard to fully trust anyone or anything. Marketers are trying to get us to trust in their products. Politicians are trying to get us to trust them enough to vote for them. Spouses want to be trusted.
Biblical trust:
The Bible teaches us not to trust in man. Why? People will disappoint you; they will let you down. But God will never disappoint or let you down. Jeremiah 17:5 — This is what the Lord says: “Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord.” So, we are not to put our trust in people, but in God. Now we do trust people. We have to at times. Trust people will keep their word, do what they say. But we shouldn’t put our trust in them to the point we lose our faith and our trust in God. That’s what happens to so many. Someone will let them down, and then they get mad at God. That’s what the Bible is teaching. Yes, if people have proven themselves trustworthy, great. But eventually people will let you down, even when they don’t mean to.
God is trustworthy. Let’s begin to believe everything He says, and learn to trust Him totally.

Loyalty
Loyalty is the ability to put others before ourselves and stick with them in good times and bad.
Building it:
Whether it be work, business, family, friendship, or a relationship, loyalty builds from specific characteristics. Just because someone is a friend, neighbor, or family member, does not mean they will be loyal. We show our loyalty by being honest, trustworthy, supportive, and generous. Being loyal means not becoming so familiar with someone or something that you begin to take them for granted or cross certain boundaries.
Maintaining it:
The quality of loyalness has been almost lost in our culture. We live in a very materialistic society, where being successful, having lots of money, has overpowered our feelings. For so many, loyalty has become nonexistent. So many today are not loyal to anyone, not even to themselves. To be a loyal person means first being loyal to ourselves. We need to be loyal to our beliefs, morals, needs, and responsibilities; we need to be loyal to God. When we are, we won’t give up these things for anything — ever!
Increasing it:
When we are loyal, it means we are respectful, we love and care for someone or something, we can be trusted. Are we loyal to God? Do we truly respect Him — reverence Him? Reverencing God means having an awesome dread of displeasing Him. We need firstly to be loyal to God, then to ourselves. Then we will be loyal to others.
Make the quality of loyalness something we strive to reflect each and every day.

You Have a 'Tude!
You Have a ‘Tude!
In a world where many things are seemingly out of our control, it is important to remember that there is one thing we are always in control of — our words. The words that create our thoughts, the words that tell our story, the stories we tell ourselves dictate the way we feel. The way we feel equals our attitude, and that is all under our control.
We control it:
There is not much we can control in our lives. We can’t control what anyone else does; we cannot control what someone else says, or thinks. We cannot always control our circumstances, but we can control what we think, what we say, the things we do. We can control our attitude. Our attitude will determine our altitude. How much we accomplish, the opportunities that come our way are a result of our attitude.
Someone fixes it:
No one likes a bad attitude. In fact, when our kids were small, my wife and I would say to them at times, “You correct your attitude or we will, but somebody is going to correct it.”
We own it:
Our attitude is just that — ours. It’s all ours. If we have a good attitude or a bad one, our choice. So, if we are not happy, we have the ability to change that by changing our attitude. So, through each and every circumstance, we have a choice of what our attitude will be. We have the ability to change our attitude today. Right now.
It’s about how we see things. Our choice!
