The Real Thing
What does real Christianity look like? For a lot of people I’ve met it means very little. Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior has little, if nothing, to do with the way they live. It is just in the light of how they describe themselves. In reality, accepting Jesus should mean radical life change and should affect every area of our lives. It should permeate every part of our being. It should be reflected in the way we think, talk, live, do business, treat others, and how we spend our money. If it is not reflected in our lives, we should ask ourselves: “What is the point?” Jesus was humiliated and died on a cross. If I accept Him as Lord, but keep living the same as I did before, then I am in a sad state of living. We are called to make a difference and to stand up for the principles and teachings found in the Word of God.
Too many people today are looking for an experience that makes them feel better but are not really interested in becoming better. There is a big difference. If you are going to be a real Christian then you must allow the Word of God to affect every area of your life by exposing anything that does not reflect or honor God. Only then can you be the “real thing”. Let’s honor God and His power to change our lives and let’s work on coming in line with His Word.
