The Empty Tomb
We just celebrated the most important Christian holy day of the calendar year. Easter/Resurrection Day is so important because all of Christianity revolves around the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Without that there is no salvation and no redemption — we would be lost forever, doomed to eternal death.
Forever changed:
What Jesus did for us on the cross has changed the world forever. What is sad today is that the cross doesn’t mean much to people. We hang them, wear them as jewelry, make them look really nice, and maybe forget the real meaning of it. If He didn’t die, He couldn’t be resurrected. Easter cannot be another holiday — can’t be about Easter bunnies and eggs. What Jesus did for us should never be lost to a world that uses anything and everything to commercialize, to sell products.
He is risen:
The cross at one time represented maybe the worst way to die, to be crucified. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice on a cross, it now represents hope to all of humanity — that we can be saved, born again, and have a relationship with God Himself because of Jesus’ sacrifice. Then the truth about His (Jesus’) being raised from the dead proves He is the Son of God. He is King of kings and Lord of lords.
It is time for all of us to get serious about our walk and service towards Jesus and God’s kingdom. Allow this to be a moment where we reflect on Jesus’ sacrificing of Himself for us and hope we can get more serious about serving Him, living His way.
Just a thought,
PSS
